In each hand, if you are the 1st to draw and Top card is black, you can only meld or canasta 4s 5s 6s 7s 8s and your opponent has the opposite. If top card is red you can only meld or canasta 9s 10s Jacks Queens or Kings. You can NEVER meld or canasta BLACK 3s and ACES so throw them out. DO NOT TOUCH THE PILE.

1st Hand - Two Aces with a Joker must be in your first meld. 2nd Hand - Two 4s with a Joker must be in your first meld. 3rd Hand - Two Kings with a Joker must be in your first meld. 4th Hand - Two 5s with a Joker must be in your first meld. 5th Hand - Two Queens with a Joker must be in your first meld. 6th Hand - Two 6s with a Joker must be in your first meld. If additional hands are required, continue with 2 Jacks with Joker, 2 7s with Joker, 2 Tens with Joker, 2 8s with Joker to finally 2 9s with Joker. *TAKE NOTICE: JOKER WILL MELD WITH THE SMALLEST UNPAIRED SET OF CARDS. The FIRST card on the discard pile determines what you must have with a joker in your initial meld. (If first card is a 7 then you need 77JOKER in your initial meld.) You may use wilds and other cards with your inital meld as long as Joker is with required card. If the first card is a wild or a three (black or red) then hand is played as regular NTC. PLEASE TYPE BOTH CARDS AT THE START OF EACH HAND. DO NOT TOUCH THE PILE.
